BUT YOU'RE REALLY FAT O!

The subject of weight-gain is a very sensitive one and some people have refused to 'grow brain' when it comes to making their comments. The two times I've 'been fat' were after delivering both my sons. The thing pregnancy/childbirth does to a woman's body ehn... Chai! In all fairness, I was quite indisciplined with my diet - I used to be the Queen of Oil! - so there was no surprise how big I got. My single hood weight was at most 65KG, and here I was after having my first son, 82KG. I was confused. Imagine those who hadn't seen me since University days!
As much as it is understandable that a new mother/nursing mother is expected to put on some weight, it really isn't an excuse to KEEP that weight on forever. I could be very offish when people make silly comments regarding women's weight. Please, women are very sensitive. And you just never know if she has been trying her hardest and it is not working.
There are different categories of women when it comes to their attitude towards weight-loss, but I will highlight what I consider the top three;
1.  First category is those who are actually quite lazy to do anything about it. Still don't mouth-wash them! If indeed you are concerned about their health, have a personal conversation with them and encourage them. DO NOT EMBARRASS THEM IN PUBLIC!
2.  Those going at it out of ignorance. Believe me, there are women who think they are going on a weight-loss journey but they are doing everything wrong. My advice, spend the little money you have on getting a weight-loss specialist/nutritionist, download workout videos from YouTube... Better to spend your little money wisely than to try to pour in plenty effort worthlessly.
3.  Those on the process. These women are doing things right but at some point they get discouraged and may fall back to old habits. This is so normal. What you should do is look at your past progress (even if you've lost just half a kilo) and encourage yourself that it can only get better. If you can, get a friend who would make it her duty to encourage you. Also, find motivation from people who have gone through this process - there are many stories online. Whichever category you belong just know that you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. You will not be the first nor last to take the right path towards your health. And in the long run, you would be glad you did.
As for those wagging their tongues, just ignore them. They would be the ones with their mouths wide open when you become the better version of you! :)
