EXERCISE: Physical exercise vs. Spiritual exercise (Pt. 4)

As we say goodbye to January 2018, I conclude my four-part series on physical and spiritual exercise. To read earlier parts, click here, here and here

One definition of exercise says; "Something performed or practiced in order to develop, improve, or display a specific capability or skill."

4.   YOU MUST BE CONSISTENT
This point can never be overemphasized. On-today-off-tomorrow doesn't get anybody anywhere. When you consistently work on improving yourself you would surely get better daily. Spiritually, when we make a lifestyle of praying, studying the Bible, fellowshipping, seeking God's face, we become more and more like Him. Our character is refined and we begin to operate in superior wisdom. We get closer and closer to being God-like in our thoughts, speech and actions. Likewise, with physical exercise, when you consistently clock-in your workout routines you get closer and closer to your goal of being physically fit. You become stronger, can last longer during routines, you're not feeling too out-of-breath during workouts and of course your body gets into the best shape.
Something that comes with consistency is EASE. The more we keep at improving ourselves, Grace is released - giving us ease and efficiency. You would realize one day that you now spend more time during your personal devotion and it wouldn't feel labored. Same with physical exercise. Once you get into the stride of working out daily, you find it easier to do an extra ten minutes or more, your body begins to respond a lot more graciously to the 'stress' of exercising, and it would always be worth it.

Have you set out goals to improve yourself this year? Do not procrastinate. Start NOW!
