OH, FOR MY SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT MY FLESH IS WEAK!

Lying on the bed, awake. The mind is calculating and strategizing how it would motivate the body to get up and werk! The body on the other hand, is crying for rest. It is wincing at every slight turn, as muscle aches are saying 'Good morning!' Should I workout this morning or just leave it for another day? Sigh...
If every time I've worked out has been because I felt like it, I wouldn't be in half the shape I'm in today. At all. I've had excuses, I've had reasons, but most importantly, I've had to work through them all. Losing weight is tough. Working out is tough. It gets to a stage where your mind is even just as weak as your body - you've not been seeing enough results for your effort, you're feeling discouraged, etc. At that point, you need your spirit to keep you going. Your spirit MUST remain alive at all times. When your body *'fails', when your mind is sending negativity, you need to search the inner realms of your spirit-man for that last push. Results will only come if you remain consistent. A wishy-washy attitude towards this goal (or any other goals in life, really) can never get you to excellence. At best, you'd end up being a mediocre version of your true God-given abilities. 
We are flesh and blood but our lives are ruled by the spirit realm. So, every one of God's creation must intentionally keep the Spirit of God alive and burning by studying and meditating on God's Word so as to succeed. Joshua 1;1-8 gives us some insight; 

"... Strength! Courage! You are going to lead this people to inherit the land that I promised to give their ancestors. Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don't get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get where you're going. And don't for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in in. Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll succeed." - MSG Translation

God's strength has been made available for those who have plugged into purpose! He asks us to be courageous!! He has a 'land' for us to possess and we have to give (our God-given goals) all we have. Study, meditate on His Word, likewise, be strengthened in your bodies. Do you not realize you need strength for your race? You have to be in good health to possess your mountains and it is God's delight seeing you healthy. My friend, do not be weary. When genuinely tired days come - REST! But in your rest find some activity that keeps your heartrate up. Take a long walk, dance, - just don't stay weak. You must get where you are going, and you should get there in good health.
