WHO ARE YOU COMPETING AGAINST?

I am on a journey - journey to find what the best version of me looks and feels like. When I get there, I hope to stay there and never go back.

Complacency is easy; mediocrity is convenient. And they are both bed-fellows with laziness, procrastination and a lack of drive to compete. You ask me, what exactly am I competing for and who am I competing against? THE BEST VERSION OF THE 'YOU' GOD CREATED. In the Bible's Creation story, after God called forth each creation on each day, it is recorded that, "...And God saw that it was good (fitting, pleasant) and He approved it." But by the sixth day, after God created mankind, the last verse of chapter 1 reads;
"And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was VERY good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it COMPLETELY..." - Genesis 1:31 (AMPLIFIED VERSION)
You were created with great potentials, a 'very good' ability and you must not allow laziness rob you of this.  Are you living in such a way that God approves you?

See ehn, being EXTRA-ordinary is no joke. It is alot of work no matter what field of work you find yourself. Do not assume someone else's field of work is easier. Please don't. To excel takes hard work in various dimensions. Do you have imaginations and daydreams of being wealthy? Do you imagine your business taking over and becoming top notch? Do you imagine promotion at work or even possibly taking your MD's spot 😁? How do you want to achieve these (in an honest way) without competition? You have to compete with you. Work in such a way that the results would surprise you! The other man or woman is not your real competition. Fight to be the best YOU! Do not give 20% when you know deep in your heart that you are capable of 80%. Wake up each morning with a resolve to give your goals the best of your abilities. And when you begin to soar, know that you have earned it. A blessed man said; "Those who pay the price to succeed are not lucky, they are rewarded." GBAM!!! Do you want the rewards of success? Then you gotta pay the price. I watched Akeelah and The Bee recently and my favorite part of the movie was when Dr. Larabee asked Akeelah to read the *poem on his wall. She read a portion and he asked her what it meant to her and Akeelah responded;

Akeelah: That I'm not supposed to be afraid?
Dr. Larabee: Afraid of what?
Akeelah: Afraid of... me?

You have more potential than you think. Search within and begin that competition to become the best version of you. It is never too late nor too early, just start NOW. You know who would be the first to reap the benefits of your hardwork? YOU.
